Ms. Debbie Gainer is energized by opportunities to engage directly with students to make a difference in their lives. Her experience as a guidance counselor for 25 years and teacher for 17 years has allowed her to work with a variety of people. She served as the Guidance Department Head at Blackman High School and Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, TN. She became an advocate for tutoring once she witnessed the gains students made in their scores. As a CAP Advisor, Ms. Gainer is intuitive, detail-oriented, and thrives on problem-solving to lead students to optimal results. |
Dr. Jason Rushing has a passion for higher education and has worked in that field as an administrator and a faculty member for 15 years. As a first-generation college student, he understands how difficult navigating the admission and scholarship processes can be. In 2006, Dr. Rushing began a branch campus of UT Martin. In 2012, he began working for a college access program funded by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) where he secured $5 million in scholarship dollars for graduating seniors. Dr. Rushing has taught undergraduate and graduate courses and continues to work in higher ed. administration as well as tutors undergraduate and graduate students. He earned his B.S. degree in History and Government Education from UT Martin, an MBA from Union University, and an Ed.D. from Lipscomb University. Dr. Rushing is married and has one son. He enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing, keeping up with current events, Christian apologetics, and reading. He is passionate about assisting individuals obtain admission and funding for higher education.
