Cynthia first became passionate about ACT® Prep when she realized the scholarship potential. She has had the joy of watching her two sons make it to the top 1% of ACT® test takers. When working with her students, she frequently asks the question, "What would I want for my child in this situation?" This topic is close to her heart as she helps them avoid the foolish mistakes she made with student loan debt. Watch her MY WHY video.
Cynthia received her B.S. in Mass Communications from Middle Tennessee State University and spent the first part of her career as a television producer for The 700 Club. In 2011, she became a teacher and earned her MAT in Secondary Education from the University of Memphis. In addition to leading CAP, Cynthia teaches Yearbook, Honors English III, and ACT® Prep at a nationally recognized school. One of Cynthia's deepest desires is to honor God by using her abilities to serve her family, friends, and students. In the public school system, she is limited when sharing her faith. At CAP, tutors and students are encouraged to pray together knowing that Christ gives the knowledge, strength, and courage to reach our goals. |

Mike has taught mathematics at both the high school and middle school levels in addition to tutoring on and off for 20+ years. He enjoys teaching, encouraging, and helping students gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of mathematics. It is a great joy when a student's proverbial light bulb shines to life after struggling to comprehend a difficult mathematical concept!

Chip Barham has over 24 years of high school teaching experience. While his primary subject area is English, he also has taught middle school and high school math, and he enjoys teaching and tutoring both subjects equally. His subject-area knowledge is reinforced by formal training in ACT® prep and by years of helping students (and his own children) prepare for the test. In addition to teaching, Chip has also spent the past two years teaching young Chinese students in online English lesson, so he brings online tutoring experience to the CAP team. Regardless of subject or of tutoring format, Chip is driven by a desire to share his passion for learning with others.

1 PERCENTERS - PEER TUTORS
Edgar Lozano is a Yale undergraduate majoring in Mathematics and Philosophy, with which he plans to go into either education or financial advising. In high school he made a 36 on the ACT®, a feat he had thought impossible for himself. He wants to help other students realize that a good score is within reach and that all it takes is a bit of study and focus. When he’s not reading up on math and philosophy, he’s more than likely catching up on events in the financial market.
